Meet the Staff

Dental Hygienist-Tammy, RDH

Tammy received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Milwaukee Area Technical College.  Tammy had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hickson in the Lake Geneva area prior to joining the Burlington Dental Arts Team.  Tammy has a passion for dentistry that’s evident in her ability to care for patients in a comfortable atmosphere and educate them about their dental care.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids’ extracurricular activities, and fostering and raising Huskies.

Dental Hygienist-Marilee, RDH

Marilee received her first technical diploma from Gateway Technical College’s Dental Assisting program.  After taking some time off to raise her family, Marilee returned to school and received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Milwaukee Area Technical College.  She is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University.  Marilee believes that staying current and up to date on products and procedures helps her to provide the best possible care to her patients.  After 10 years of full time hygiene and management in the Lake Geneva area, Marilee enthusiastically accepted a part time position with Dr. Hickson and the Burlington Dental Arts team.  This allows her to continue what she loves to do in caring for her patients, as well as helping her husband in his business, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marilee is a lifetime resident of Burlington.  She and her husband, Phil, have raised their four children here who are now all grown and living here and in the Milwaukee area.  Marilee enjoys reading, entertaining, gardening, and mostly spending time with her family and friends.

Dental Assistant-Nicole

Nicole graduated from Milwaukee Career College in 2013 with a diploma in Dental Assisting.  Nicole has experience assisting in all areas of dentistry.

Nicole takes pride in making patients feel comfortable at their appointments, especially those who have been away from the dentist for a long period of time. She likes to remind patients that, “What matters now is to take care of things after today.”

Nicole enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend, Cody, and their dog, Tex. They enjoy the outdoors and taking spur of the moment road trips to explore new places.

Patient Care Coordinator-Helen

Helen graduated from Milwaukee Career College’s Dental Assisting Program in 2013. She quickly found that her skills could be best utilized in the administrative side of dentistry. After moving back to her home town of Burlington, she joined the Burlington Dental Arts team in fall of 2018.

Helen can often be found acting like a translator between the dental team and the patients; she finds her dental assisting background comes in handy when explaining treatment and answering questions.  She is always happy to remind you of your upcoming appointments, greet you with a smile, or talk football while you wait for your appointment.

In her free time you can find Helen playing fetch with her favorite canine side kick, Huckleberry, playing pub trivia with her husband, Zach, and seeing a movie (almost) every Sunday night with her Dad.

Office Manager-Penny, CDA

Penny graduated from Concordia University’s Dental Assisting program in 1996 and became certified by the Dental Assisting National Board in 1998. Penny is a Certified Dental Assistant who was also an instructor at Waukesha County Technical College’s dental assisting program for over 12 years before joining the Burlington Dental Arts’ Team.

Penny’s knowledge of dental procedures and their outcomes allows her to guide patients through their treatment. She enjoys seeing how optimal dental health can change patients’ lives. Because Penny attends many seminars and continuing education courses, she remains up to date on the latest dental procedures, protocols, and products.

When she is not working at the office, Penny can be found enjoying time with her 2 sons, riding her Harley,  boating, kayaking, or snowshoeing.
